Swabooh.com allows users to swap their itemsusing Secure Swap to give them the peace of mind whilst swapping. In order toswap an item using Secure Swap you will firstly need to add a security depositto your account. Adding a security deposit can be done through the ‘My Account’link and the payment is handled by PayPal so it’s completely safe.
This securitydeposit can then be used to swap items securely using Secure Swap, whichreserves a portion of your deposit whilst a swap is in process (the portionreserved is £20 per swap). If an item is not received by a user, whilst usingthe Secure Swap method then the sender will be responsible for replacing theitem. If the item is not replaced by the sender and no resolution can beagreed, then the senders’ security deposit will be used to compensate the otheruser. Please note that Swabooh.com will always try to resolve any uncompletedswaps before considering compensating the user with the senders’ deposit. Inmost cases the issue can be resolved by the users themselves by replacing orre-sending an alternative item. Compensation will be given to the value of theitem up to £20 and any remaining deposit will be released back to the sender.
If the swap is successful for all usersinvolved then the portion of the deposit allocated for this swap will bereleased back to the user, which can then be used on the next swap.
The user canrequest a refund at any time as long as they have enough available deposit. Ifthe deposit is currently allocated to an uncompleted swap then they will needto wait until the swap has been completed before the refund can be actioned.
Adding a securitydeposit incurs a small handling fee of £2.50 per deposit transaction.
