How does Swabooh.com work?
List your DVDs, Blu Rays, video games, books and CDs you wish to swap in your ‘Have List’, then just add the items you would like in return to your ‘Want List’, and Swabooh.com will do the rest.
Based on your ‘Have List’ and ‘Want List’ Swabooh.com will then be able to identify potential swaps using the direct swap and multi swap methods. The direct swap identifies a match between two users, who will be able to swap directly with each other. If a direct swap cannot be identified then Swabooh.com will try to indentify a swap using the multi swap method, which can include between 3 and 4 users which can significantly increase the chance of a match being made (user 1 sends to user 2, user 2 sends to user 3, user 3 sends to user 1).
Once the other user/s accepts your swap request, you will be provided with the address details where you will need to send you item.
How much does Swabooh.com cost?
Swabooh.com service is completely free and all you need to do is pay for the postage and packaging when sending your item. We currently have some suggestions, which will allow you to swap an item for as little as the cost of a stamp using our case less option and re-useable envelopes (See Caseless section below).
Swabooh.com allows you to swap items with confidence using our secure swap method. The secure swap method allows you to add a security deposit which can be used whilst swapping. Therefore if an item is not received by a user they will receive the senders’ security deposit as compensation. Swabooh.com has a small fee of £2.50 to add a security to your account which covers administration and payment fees (Click here to find out more).
Caseless?
Swabooh recommends that you swap your items caseless using reuseable envelopes in order to minimise the postage costs to you, and its also helps the environment. In order to swap your item caseless you will just need to select the 'Swap this item caseless' option against your 'Have List' items.

Help! It’s my first swap.
Swapping on Swabooh.com is easy. First of all you need to add items that you currently have to your ‘Have List’. To add an item to you ‘Have List’ you can either use the ‘Up arrow’ icon against the product on the listing pages or using the ‘Have It’ link on the product details page (Please see below for details on your ‘Have List’ settings). Once items have been added to your ‘Have List’ you be shown all the items that you will be able to receive in return for this item. This can be done by using the ‘What can I get for this?’ link in your ‘Have List’. If the system identifies a match for an item you have in your ‘Want List’ then it will give you an option to swap straight for this item straight away. If there are no matches against your want list it will show a list of item you could receive, so it just a case of adding one of these items to your want list to being the swap process (This can be done by using the ‘Down arrow icon’).
Once the ‘Swap’ button has been selected, you will get a list of users that you can swap with along with the criteria for the swap (Caseless, Secure Swap). If the swap is specified as ‘Secure Swap’ and you don’t have sufficient funds in your account you will be notified at this point (For details on the Secure Swap process and adding funds to your account, please click here).
Once you have selected the user you want to swap with, this user will be notified and ask to confirm the swap. Once the swapped has been confirmed you will be notified by email and asked to send your item.
How do I list items I ‘Have’ to Swap.
Its simple all you need to do is browse the site or use the search functionality to find the item you have to swap. To add the item to your have list you can either use the ‘Up arrow’ icon on the product listing pages or the ‘Have it’ link on the product details page. Once you have added the item to your ‘Have List’ you will be asked to set criteria for this particular item:
1. What condition is the item in? – Specify the item condition from the drop down list. Please be truthful, as this could affect the review/rating you receive whilst swapping. Negative reviews could then affect future swaps.
2. I am offering this item for trade – This allows the user to add items to their have list that they are not yet ready to trade. If this option is un-ticked then it will not be included in any swap allocations. Please remember to tick this option if you are willing to swap this item.
3. I am offering this item with Secure Swap – If you want to swap this item securely, then you will need to select this option.
Can I swap between media type (Video Games for a DVD, Book for a CD etc)?
Yes you can swap between media types by selecting these criteria against your item in you ‘Have’ list. Alternatively you can make sure that you only receive request for specific items for your item (Video Game for a Video Game). Please see the ‘How do I list items to swap’ section for more details.
Can you swap multiple items for a single item?
No all swaps on Swabooh.com are one for one ratio, meaning you will swap one item and receive one in return.
Do I have to add items to my ‘Want List’?
Yes in order to initiate a swap you will need to have the item in your ‘Want List’. Swabooh.com recommends that you add all the items you would like to your ‘Want List’ in order increases the chances of a swap being identified. You may not always know what you want before you see it, so if you use the ‘What can I get for this?’ option in your ‘Have List’, you can see all the items you can get in return.
Can I add item to my ‘Have List’ that I am not ready to trade yet?
You can add items to your ‘Have List’ and then make sure the option ‘I am offering this item for trade’ is un ticked, which will stop this item from being included in swap matches. Swabooh.com encourages you to place all items you have into your ‘Have List’ even if you are not ready to swap them yet. You never know you might receive a manual request for item you didn’t think off or didn’t know was available.
This option is also useful when you have just received a swap, as you might not be ready to swap it just yet.
Can I swap ‘downloaded’, ‘copied’, ‘burned’ or ‘electronic’ versions of an item?
Swabooh.com does not allow you to swap burned, copied or electronic items even if they have come from a legitimate source. Any item which has been downloaded from the Internet with any purchased and/or private site is strictly prohibited.
Swapping any counterfeit item is prohibited by law and therefore any users found doing so will be reported to the necessary authorities. If you have received a counterfeit item through a swap with another Swabooh.com user please contact us with the details.
Swapping Procedures
Is it possible to cancel a swap request?
Yes as long as a swap request has not been confirmed you can cancel the swap by using the ‘Cancel’ option against the swap in the ‘My Swaps’ section. Unfortunately swaps cannot be cancelled once the swap has been confirmed, as it likely that the item may have already been sent. We therefore insist that you are 100% sure before confirming a swap.
What should I do if I don’t receive my item?
If you do not receive your item within 10 days of confirming a swap, your will be able to use the ‘Not Received’ option against the swap. We will then contact the sender to resolve the issue. In most cases the issue can be resolved, by the sender so not to incur a bad review or the loss of their security deposit. If the item was swapped using Secure Swap then the item will be insured under this method.
What should I do if I receive the wrong item?
